Spurred on by decades of competition with the likes of Chrysler and General Motors, Ford has grown into one of the world’s foremost manufacturers, producing everything from bakkies to supercars, and everything in between.
Although Ford divested from South Africa during apartheid, the Ford name has remained constant in SA culture. Since reinvesting after 1994, South Africa has been introduced to the Ranger, the Fiesta, the Focus, and more recently, the budget-friendly Figo.
Ford’s emphasis on SUVs and crossovers has also made cars like the Ecosport and Kuga very popular, while the mighty Everest crowns the brand’s local offerings. There’s not much more to be said about Ford’s quality and service. Its popularity speaks for itself!
